Malteries Soufflet acquires the Belgian malting company Castel Malting®

Malteries Soufflet and Jean Louis Dourcy, majority shareholder of Castel Malting ®, announce the signing of a binding agreement relating to the acquisition by Malteries Soufflet of 100% of the Belgian company.

InVivo wants to make the “malt” activity one of the founding pillars of its economic model and continue its development to bring the malt division to the forefront in the world. Castel Malting®, whose specificity is to offer a unique range of traditional and special malts, will give Malteries Soufflet the opportunity to develop its activity on the craft market with higher added value, with a platform enabling it to serve brewers all over the world.

Belgium is known worldwide for its malt, with malts exported to more than 160 countries, whose unique properties contribute to the reputation of many Belgian beers. Castel Malting®, established in 1868, is the oldest malting house in Belgium and one of the oldest in the world, renowned for its complete range at the service of artisan brewers and distillers, built around traditional and special malts including the slogan is “a malt for every brewer”. The diversity and exceptional nature of the range of traditional malts, hops, yeasts and services available to Castel Malting® group, combined with the global network of Malteries Soufflet, presents a valuable advantage in meeting the growing demand from artisanal brewers and distillers in global level.

The Malteries Soufflet staff representative bodies, consulted on this project, gave a unanimous favorable opinion. This acquisition should be finalized during the first quarter of 2023
