Unique Bottle Shop To Fill A Niche Market Proposed For Coffs CBD

The application for a Retail Premises (shop fit out for a bottle shop) on the ground floor of Coffs Central Shopping Centre was lodged with Council on 30 March and is estimated to cost $60,000. The proposed store is to be called Harts Bottle Shop and will sell principally craft liquors and beers, and boutique wines from small businesses. These premium boutique products, such as craft beer, craft cider, craft spirits and boutique wines will make up the bulk of the stocked product, with mainstream liquor products not exceeding 10% of the total products available for sale. The proposed store will sell products from boutique wineries, craft breweries and craft/artisan distilleries throughout NSW and elsewhere in Australia, as well as potentially similar products from overseas. The business will stock products not generally currently available in mainstream liquor stores, giving the store a point of difference between it and existing bottle shops in Coffs Harbour such as Dan Murphy’s and Liquorland. The expression of commitment to a boutique-style liquor store is intended to represent a niche and upmarket contribution to the community in response to concerns of the community. The proposed store will make premium and boutique products more accessible to customers, educating them on their unique qualities and characteristics.
