Adjusting to demand | Supplier Analysis – glass

Describe the onset of lockdown in March and how the company adjusted. Simon Dix, Vetroplas Packaging: Much as everyone else. Adjustments had to be made swiftly with working from home mandatory for an office-based business like ours. We receive and send parcels on a daily basis so a rota system was used to ensure continuity of service. Adrian Curry, Encirc: The first few months of lockdown were challenging, but I’m delighted to say that our response to Covid was people-focused, with an internal campaign which ended up being recognised as a shining example of how we can support each other through difficult times. We won the British Glass industry award for our Strengthening Business Through People campaign, which was a wonderful accolade to receive. Encirc faced a variety of challenges. As part of our #INITTOGETHER campaign, we connected everybody via our Workplace app, running online health and wellbeing sessions, galvanising the workforce with people-focused initiatives and making sure to address any health and safety concerns as needed.
